Ski & snow trips

Fresh tracks, sorted.

Ski trips anywhere in the world, planned end to end: the Alps, Japan, Canada, the Rockies or the Andes. Where to stay, getting there, lift tickets, rentals and lessons, plus the fun off the slopes.

Ski the world

Tell me the mountain, or tell me what you want (powder, big vertical, après, a ski-in/ski-out chalet) and I'll suggest one. A few of the places I can plan:

The Alps

Zermatt, Verbier and St. Moritz in Switzerland; Chamonix, Courchevel and Val d'Isère in France; St. Anton and Kitzbühel in Austria; Cortina, Cervinia and the Dolomites in Italy.

Japan

Famous powder in Niseko, Rusutsu, Furano and Tomamu on Hokkaido, and Hakuba Valley and Shiga Kogen on the main island.

Canada

Whistler Blackcomb, Banff's three resorts (Lake Louise, Sunshine, Norquay) and Québec's Charlevoix.

United States

Lake Tahoe and the Rockies, from big resort villages to quiet condos near the lifts.

Chile

Portillo and Valle Nevado in the Andes: ski in the Southern Hemisphere while it's summer up north.

Heli-skiing

Untracked powder by helicopter in British Columbia and Alaska, for strong skiers who want the trip of a lifetime.

Where I've skied

Zermatt, under the Matterhorn

I've skied Zermatt myself, and it's a trip I love to plan. You ski with the Matterhorn above you all day, ride the lifts across the border to lunch in Italy, and come back to a village with no cars at all.

Plan a Zermatt trip

  • Ski into Italy360 km of slopes shared with Breuil-Cervinia, with 50 lifts.
  • Europe's highest cable car stationMatterhorn Glacier Paradise, at 3,883 m.
  • Snow all year21 km of glacier slopes are open even in summer.
  • Car-free villageCars stop in Täsch; a 12-minute shuttle train runs into the village every 20 minutes.

What I book

Everything for the trip, in one place, wherever the mountain is.

The trip itself

  • Lodging near the lifts: hotels, condos and ski villas
  • Lift tickets, ski or snowboard rentals and lessons
  • Flights, airport transfers or a rental car built for snow
  • Travel insurance, worth it on every ski trip

Who it's for

  • Groups of friends who each want a different budget or flight
  • Families with kids in ski school
  • Couples who'd rather spend the time skiing than planning
  • First-timers who want it to go smoothly

Winter extras

A rest day, a travel day or a day for the non-skiers. I can add tours and activities to any trip.

How it works

Resorts, lodging and tour companies pay travel advisors a commission when they book, so in most cases you pay the same price as booking direct and get someone in your corner.

1

Tell me the trip

Dates, who's going, ski level, budget, and whether you want ski-in/ski-out or a quieter spot nearby.

2

I compare the options

Lodging, flights, cars and add-ons side by side, with what each person's share would be.

3

I book and follow through

Payments, reminders, snow-tire and chain rules for the car, and help if plans change.

More adventures coming

Ski is first. Have something else in mind, like an expedition cruise or a guided tour? Ask, or see everything I plan at JVK Travels.
